Everyone’s guilty of blowing off website content writing. But don’t make it a habit.
Your website needs fuel — words — about your business, product or service to be found by search engines.
Instead of trying to do a website post every day, hire a blogger, (I can hear business owners saying, “no way, I just paid for a website,”) or do several blogs at a time.
Hiring bloggers is another website post you can read about here: Hiring Content Writers
What You Should Put in a Website Post
The biggest question asked is what you should put in a website post. You know your business so write a list of things your clients will want to know about what you offer.
- Introduce a new product
- Reintroduce an old product
- Promote a service
- Explain use
- Insider tips on getting the most from what you sell
- Sales
- Discounts
- Promotions
- 2-For-1 Offers
- Lessons Learned
- Personal Stories
- Top 10 List
- Tips List
- How-To Stories
The list is as long as you can make it. Then start rattling off ideas. There’s an App you can download to your smart phone to dictate and transcribe your notes.
For Androids it’s the FlexT9 Input App and it’s about $4.
For iPhones it’s Dragon Naturally Speaking or Dragon Dictate and costs about $4.
While you may have to go back into copy that gets transcribed and add a little punctuation, you can speak more quickly than you write. Adding commas, periods and capital letters isn’t so bad.
