There are several things you can do to your website to help get it to the top of the search engines but there is not one trick, tip or secret that will put you there or keep you there.
Start by consistently adding to your online profile with expansion to social media, online directories, with high quality website content. Do this consistently posting non-stop new information so that search engines find what you’re putting out there interesting and noteworthy — that’s what will keep you there.
You really can’t predict what noteworthy or interesting or new, best, latest content is. Nor can you adjust or prepare for search engine algorithm changes which change what is considered a best practice on what content to add.
Search Engine Optimization is what we’re talking about here. SEO refers to the online information about your brand, product or service that can be found by the search engines. Feed the search engines quality content surrounding your category (brand, service or product) consistently and you’ll be successful.
Tip No. 1: Update website regularly
Add information to your website daily. Do something to it. Change the copy. Write an in-depth blog post. Post a new video. Rewrite copy. Change photos. DO something every day.
If you don’t make regular changes to your website you’re going to slide in rankings. Search engines want the newest, best, latest, most relevant and quality content.
You should add daily content yourself or hire someone else to do it for you. It has to be a real value to your visitors and more specifically to the search engines. You can’t throw up a few sentences and expect miracle traffic.
2. Get your website optimized by an SEO expert: Hire a search engine optimizer to tune code and program your website engine and provide updates so that it’s search-engine ready and friendly. Provide needed website updates. Change outdated items, eliminate old fashioned practices.
3. Provide new photos, videos: If you don’t want to shoot video of yourself, have someone do it for you. Same for photos. Post the pictures and video to your site regularly.
4. Rewrite existing content: Your biography, your staff, your services need to be refreshed
5. Work your social media: You should be posting regularly to Facebook, LinkedIN and Twitter and all the rest of social media regularly
